Before N + D head off to Italy this week to tie the knot in Tuscany, they said “I Do” in a small wedding ceremony at Harbor Island Drive Park overlooking the San Diego skyline on a beautiful Sunday morning. They looked so happy that this moment has finally arrived and family and friends joined in wishing them a happy & healthy life together.

After learning that Lori was expecting, while shooting her wedding earlier this summer, I was excited when she asked me to set up a maternity shoot! It was great exploring a genre of photography I have not done a lot of. To make Lori feel more comfortable, I rented some studio space at dk3 Studios in Mira Mesa which worked out perfectly!

Giovanna first spotted my photography when I shot Armando & Jennine’s Wedding at the Shops at Dos Lagos. Turns out Giovanna was the Leasing Manager at Dos Lagos, loved my photos, and happened to be getting married this year! I finally got to meet Giovanna’s fiance, Gustavo, this week when we met up for their engagement session in Old Town San Juan Capistrano. Nervous at first, the beautiful couple soon felt at ease having fun posing for the camera. After we got some great shots in Old Town we headed south along the train tracks to the San Clemente Pier to capture an amazing California sunset. Can’t wait to shoot there wedding next month!

Amid the chaos of weddings, engagements, portraits, headshot sessions, and maternity shoots I was able to fit in some volunteer work for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. At first I was a little hesitant to get up at 6am to drive around in the morning traffic, but I know what great work the Ronald McDonald House Charities do with families. It was great going around and saying hello to all the volunteers collecting the money who all seemed to be in great spirits and letting me know people have been very generous this morning in San Diego (or at least the communities of Del Mar, Carmel Valley & Rancho Bernardo that I visited).

My headshot session with Gabriela, a young musical theatre artist, shot at the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach.
